TEA PARTY – APRIL 15, 2009 – FLY THE AMERICAN FLAG UPSIDE DOWN
Dear American Taxpayer;
On September 17, 1796; in his farewell speech to Congress, our founding father, President George Washington, warned that party politics would ruin our country.
On April 15, 2009; I am asking all Americans to fly the American flag upside down as a protest to the partisan politics, wasteful government spending, and the tax increases that will cripple our economy, bankrupt our people, and jeopardize the solvency and security of our great nation.
Our elected officials are asking the American people to be responsible citizens as well as consumers and live within our means. By our action, we the people; are asking our elected officials to do the same. The politicians don’t seem to care about the burden they are placing on us, our parents, our grandparents, our children, our grandchildren, our great grandchildren, and the unborn.
The politicians have divided us and they have conquered us. Whether you are a Republican, a Democrat, a Libertarian or an independent, we all need to come together as Americans. It doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor; the government’s actions will impact your standard of living and shape your future. This simple action is a sign of American solidarity. We need to take our country back from special interest, earmarks, pork and partisan politics. Let us give the power back to ‘we the people’.
This action is not sponsored by any political organization. This is a grass roots effort which began by myself, a lone ‘no party’ American. Change happens with the actions of the individual and you can make a difference.
For the States that are bankrupt, I also urge the people of those States to fly your State flag upside down.
Please consider this request and forward this request to all concerned Americans.
Together, we the people can make our great country, great again.
All the best to you, your family, and the United States of America.
Respectfully Requested,
John R. Aube’
